Forgot to mention, infy sucks because of its middle level managers. Every manager is an asshole. they dont have people skills. they become managers by years of exp. and screw you. they overload the SEs and SSEs with all work just to impress the client and their senior managers. In the end they get all the appreciations. If you talk to them regarding changing of your project, transfer, etc. they will blackmail you saying they will take disciplinary action and ruin your profile….. On the hole infy sucks big time. Fellow infoscions sorry if i am hurting your sentiments. but this is the truth. No onsite oppurtunities, No transparency in promotions,…

Infy sucks really. Except for the infrastructure there is nothing in the company to boast of. i am currently working in infy and am desperate to quit at the earliest possible. They make you slog for over 13- 14 hours everyday and still want you you to come on saturday as well. all these at no extra pay. they will screw you like anything. 85% of the projects are like that. If you are lucky enough you might come into that 15%. infy is concerned only about developing infrastructure and impressing clients. Customer Satisfaction is 100% Employee satisfaction is 0%.

I just got placed in TCS…What i really wanted to know is wheather one gets the desired location after training or not???Also where does one see himself(position and salary wise) after 10 yrs of work in tcs without any job change???

guys I have worked in both the companies and I think from what I read here I can give you the best pic.. I started with Infy and let me tell you that they really kick ur ass in training and drive u nuts.All what is heard is that they offer 5 star facilities but u need to know what lies behind the doors as well. We are just passouts from college days and there we are shown what the real corporate world is like. Its like offering you stale food on a gold plate. If u fail to score well in their training ,fear of getting dumped creeps inside u while thats not the case with TCS, where my friends had a ball during their training. Even the initial years were horrible in Infy with work press. and literally had no time for myself. But one thing I must say here is that U even learn a lot but have to make lots of personal sacrifices. frustated after 2.5 years there I joined TCS where everything is like government company. Seniors dont care abt what u r doing. People getting paid when they are sitting at home. U can even bunk the company and catch the afternoon show wid ur friends but if u r trapped in a shit proj here which are in bulk then u r gone. Even seniors like me who had sufficient experience are put to minor tasks and it all depends on how u manage there wid ppl. I must say that here in chennai there is domicile prob. Ratings are good for south indians and all the minor tasks and poor grades are given to ppl from north. we dont even get extended leaves when really required and then we have to lie and revolt for it at the end f*** our grades. My other mates in TCS Kolkata & Mum got into good projects but those in Delhi were totally frustated with their career and many left the company.Perhaps I was also on the unluckier side.. I had to leave this company as well due to the CHE HRs and then tried elsewhere at the end ruining the precious 4-5 years of my life. Now I am happy developing web applications ,sites and doing things on my own. My suggestion wud be IF U REALLY HAVE THE TALENT THEN PL DONT WASTE UR TIME WORKING IN IT SECTOR. FORM A GROUP AMONGST UR FRIENDS AND DO STUFFF UR SELF. BUT FOR INITIAL EXPERIENCE U CAN TRY WID ANY COMPANY(coz all of them really sux)

all it companies sucks….try to get a government job and be secure
