How Cloud Antivirus is different from traditional antivirus products?

Cloud Antivirus is a cloud based security solution that can be installed and managed from anywhere through a web console.

Since it is a hosted service, it doesn’t require infrastructure investment. You typically have options to delegate your security management to expert service providers.

So it is essentially more about management of Antivirus in any organization that goes in the cloud. There will still be an Antivirus product installed in each PC and laptop you have. Normally the Cloud Antivirus can be deployed in two ways. One in which the user clicks on an email which includes a link that will install the protection agent. Gates puts spotlight on security

A week after launching what he called the most secure Windows version ever, Bill Gates outlined a strategy for Microsoft Corp. and the rest of the industry to improve security in the broader online world.

In one example, Gates said last week that Windows will support a grass-roots technology for signing in to Web sites using automated digital credentials, rather than typing passwords each time. Microsoft said its decision to back the OpenID initiative dovetails with a new identification system built into Windows Vista.

Security concerns hamper progress of e-commerce

Free TrustedID Search Engine Checks for Theft of Personal Data

TrustedID, a leading provider of solutions to prevent identity theft, launched a free global service that allows consumers to search a secure database to check if their personal information has been stolen or compromised.

The new service, dubbed StolenID Search, contains more than 2 million compromised credit card and Social Security numbers. The company wants to give consumers tools to help them proactively prevent identity theft, said Scott Mitic, CEO of TrustedID. â€¦

Computer virus delays driver licensing for a time

A computer virus caused driver licensing delays at state motor vehicle agencies and service centers, but was fixed by 2 p.m., a spokesman said Tuesday.

The virus was first detected last week in computerized driver license testing and also impaired digital driver license processing at some agencies, said Mike Horan, spokesman for the state Motor Vehicle Commission.Â Â â€¦

Hacking monitoring site hacked

Hackers from West Asia pulled off a coup when they defaced the homepage of zone-h.org, a website known for archiving and monitoring the hacking activity.

The defacement did not appear to be politically motivated, but the Saudi Arabian hackers left a message with a four-letter word pointing out that the security of the website was bypassed. The site was not repaired till Tuesday night. â€¦

PC Tools Releases Firewall Plus for Windows

20 – Storm Worm virus launched on Internet

The Finnish data security company F-Secure warned on Friday of a new computer virus, The Storm Worm virus has started to spread around the world following the storm that hit many parts of Europe on Thursday.

According to F-Secure, the significant network attack was launched globally in the early hours of Thursday morning using news of a European storm as the hook.
