Advertising Wars In India

Read From Bottom to top, its the order in which the advertisements got added one above the other.

Indian vs American – Tit for Tat

An Indian is having his breakfast (coffee, croissants, bread, butter And jam) when an American man; chewing gum, sits down next to him. The Indian ignores the American who, nevertheless, starts a conversation.

American: “You Indians eat the whole bread?”
Indian (coolly): “Of course.”
American: (after blowing a huge bubble)”We don’t. In America, we only eat what’s inside. The crusts we collect in a container, recycle it,transform them into croissants and sell them to India.” The American has a smirk
on his face.

The Indian munches on… gives a cold look but did not reply.

The American refuses to take the cue and persists: “Do you eat jelly with the bread??”
Indian: “Of Course.”
American: (cracking his gum between his teeth and chuckling). “We don’t. In America we eat fresh fruit for breakfast, then we put all the peels, seeds, and left overs in containers, recycle them, transform them into
jam and sell the jam to India.”

The Indian puts his coffee mug down…looks straight in the American’s eye and then asks: “Do you have sex in America?”
American: “Why of course we do”, the American says with a big smirk.
Indian: “And what do you do with the condoms once you’ve used them?”
American: “We throw them away, of course.”
Indian: “We don’t. In India, we put them in a container, recycle them,melt them down into chewing gum and sell them to America.

People appear brighter before you hear them speak

One of my College frnd cum Junior Pratik Modi says
Since Light Travels faster than Sound, People appear brighter before you hear them speak

I replied with
As Sounds needs medium to travel and Light necessarily doesn’t needs that ..Similarly Sounds needs permission of the person u want to spk ..where as Light(to view them) doesn’t need any ,,,so they look brighter

Scientific Explanation of Why Light Travels faster than Sound is as follows
The speed of light is approximately 186,000 miles per second. The speed of sound is about 1100 feet per second. (The qualifiers are because there can be variations.) Why are they different? Why is one person a blonde and another a redhead? or one tall and another short? I think you most likely want to know something more about the media of transmission, perhaps…. The fact that light does not need a medium means that it can travel full tilt (and its fastest) in a vacuum. It actually can be slowed somewhat (although very slightly) through glass, etc…

Sound, on the other hand, cannot travel without a medium, since it depends on a physical vibration. It literally causes each molecule to vibrate as it passes, and that’s what you actually “hear” when those vibrations reach your ear. “Soundproofing” is actually the interruption of that path of vibrations, usually a spongy or “foamy” structure, so that the vibrations are repeatedly stopped on their path until they lose the energy that keeps them going (and THAT is an over-simplified explanation, but you get the idea.)

Javascript HtmlEncode/HtmlDecode

Ack:- Lunar Media

Have you ever needed to HtmlEncode a querystring using JavaScript? Yes you may say, and several people will claim that you should UrlEncode it using escape(str); For some unknown reason I tried doing exactly that and UrlDecode the variable in csharp with no luck. Instead I found a solution in the Prototype library, appropriately they call it escapeHTML:

function escapeHTML (str)
{
var div = document.createElement(‘div’);
var text = document.createTextNode(str);
div.appendChild(text);
return div.innerHTML;
};

Wonderful simple and effective trick using the browsers own automatic Html converter.
