{"id":598,"date":"2007-01-29T20:18:35","date_gmt":"2007-01-29T14:48:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.chiragmehta.info\/chirag\/2007\/01\/29\/lic-to-go-paperless-digital-by-2010\/"},"modified":"2007-01-29T20:18:35","modified_gmt":"2007-01-29T14:48:35","slug":"lic-to-go-paperless-digital-by-2010","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.chiragmehta.info\/chirag\/2007\/01\/29\/lic-to-go-paperless-digital-by-2010\/","title":{"rendered":"LIC to go paperless, digital by 2010"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Shedding its image of a <strong><em>brick-and-mortar <\/em><\/strong>organisation, the <strong>Life Insurance Corporation<\/strong> of India (LIC) is all set venture into the<strong> digital era.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The corporation is close to signing a <strong>Rs 1100 crore<\/strong> Electronic Data Management System (<strong>EDMS<\/strong>) <strong>contract <\/strong>with a consortium-<strong>led <\/strong>by global IT major <strong>Hewlett-Packard<\/strong> (HP) that will transfer it to the <strong>paperless <\/strong>world by <strong>2010<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>HP will lead a consortium of IT firms, including <strong>Mumbai<\/strong>-based <strong>Vakrangee Softwares<\/strong> for three-and-a-half year that would entail digitalization of its <strong>20 crore policies<\/strong>.
