Ratan Tata&#8217;s predecessor <strong>JRD Tata<\/strong> is celebrated as <strong>father of India&#8217;s civil aviation<\/strong>. JRD Tata had launched <strong>Tata Airlines in 1932<\/strong>, which was <strong>nationalised in 1953 and rechristened Air-India<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t get spare time, but whatever time I have is spent flying.<strong> I am a trained pilot for both planes and helicopters<\/strong>,&#8221; Tata had earlier said.<\/p>\n<p>Though Tata Group now holds under <strong>10 per cent stake<\/strong> in no-frills carrier <strong>SpiceJet<\/strong>, Ratan Tata has ruled out plans to enter the civil aviation space.
