The Indian Space Research Organisation has completed preparations for the launch of the INSAT-4C by the indigenous Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle scheduled for next week from the Sriharikota spaceport, ISRO Chairman G Madhavan Nair

Equipped with 12 high-powered Ku band transponders, the 2,180 kg spacecraft is designed for a mission life of 10 years. It is expected to give a boost to direct-to-home television broadcast services. ISRO said the launch is slated between July 10 and 15.
